Coming on the heels
of June's record sales, July posts another record. Greater Toronto
REALTORS® reported 9,967 sales, up 28% vs July, 08. Average price
was up 6% year-over-year to $395,414. "The steep drop-off in sales
experienced at the beginning of the year has all but dissipated,"
according to TREB.
The
Bank of Canada's guarantee
to keep rates at historic lows until
mid 2010, the bottoming of the US market and our volume and price
appreciation have returned Toronto area buyers and sellers. Quality
houses are back as more sellers see an opportunity to return to
the market.
Inventory is down
substantially and multiple offers are frequent. This will continue
to put upward pressure on GTA prices. We believe even more it's time
to start
looking for those bargains.
